HERNDON WINS BIG AT BATESVILLE'S SCHOENFELD HEADERS CHAMPIONSHIP

Terry Joe Herndon (Atwood, TN) celebrated in Victory Lane on Saturday night of the 28th Annual Schoenfeld Headers Mid-America IMCA Stock Car Championship at Batesville Motor Speedway. This was Herndon's first time to win the Schoenfeld Headers Mid-America Championship.
Forty-five IMCA Stock Car teams showed up to compete for the $10,000 first place prize money. All of these drivers did an outstanding job of racing with only one caution during the 50-lap main event on Saturday night.
Local veteran driver, Wayne Brooks of Bald Knob, Arkansas set fast time on Thursday night to guarantee a starting position in the main event. Brooks was also hard charger of the feature event on Saturday night.
Following Herndon to the checkered flag was Troy Burkhart of Hayes, KS. Third place was Zane Devilbiss from Farmington, NM. Another Hayes, KS driver, Tathan Burkhart came in fourth place and fifth place went to Chelsea, Iowa driver, Dallon Murty. Finishing out the top ten were Randy Weaver of Little Rock, AR; Troy Jerovetz (last year's winner) from Iowa Falls, IA; Wayne Brooks; Richie Tosh, Salado, AR; and Cody Smith of Kaufman, TX.
